‘My cat literally saved [my husband's] life!’: 20+ owners share the incredible stories of when their feline friend’s sixth sense woke them up just in time

Every cat pawrent knows their cats are brave. Most of the time, cats are brave in the face of the danger posed by a hair-tie flying too fast across the room. But some other times, cats show true resourcefulness in the face of very real imminent disasters. And when these are about to happen when we're asleep, when we have no way to know dangerous events are about to unfold, it's good to know we can count on our feline family members to alert us. We asked our very own ICHC online cat community to share these times when their cats woke them up in the middle of the night for a justified reason. The stories below truly touched our hearts. It's truly touching to know that the cat you adopted is so brave. And not just in the face of a roudy raccoon invading the bins in the backyard - but that your cat is brave enough to save the life of a family member. Literally. Thinking about the option of a timeline where you didn't adopt the cat, and as a result there was no one to save your family in the middle of the night, when everyone is sound asleep, is a scary thought to hold. This is why we're sure all these people here, sharing their amazing stories, are wholeheartedly grateful for their feline family members. And honestly? We are too. We're so happy to have all these people as our humble online cat-loving community.

We're laughing so hard at this comment. Surely, cats have a lot to say when their food bowls are empty. Even if it's in the middle of the night. It's a known fact that a hungry cat is an audacious cat. So, you know, we'd recommend filling your cat's food bowl with kibble before going to sleep - unless you want your cat to disturb your sweet dreams at 3 AM.

A tornado warning, a pet on the fact - to a cat it's all the same. An emergency. And even if it happens in the middle of the night, their people must be awake, of course. Yes, even for some pets and purrs. That's just the laws of cats, we didn't invent them. We just follow them to the last line, as we are purroud servants of our feline overlords.
